Accenture expanded its presence in Spain by acquiring Innotec Security, a company specializing in cybersecurity as a service, cyber resilience, and risk management.

Although the financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed, the acquisition involves the integration of Innotec Security into Accenture Security, which has made 19 acquisitions since 2015.

Innotec Security, formerly owned by Grupo Entelgy, was established in 2002 and is headquartered in Madrid.

The company is one of the leading cybersecurity service providers in the Spanish market.

With this acquisition, 500 cybersecurity professionals from Innotec Security joined Accenture Security’s 20,000 employees worldwide.

Innotec Security offers various cybersecurity services, including cyber defense, threat simulation, detection, response, and incident management.

It also provides cyber intelligence, infrastructure and application security, cyber risk assessment, and security consulting.

Its clients are companies from financial services, energy, logistics, healthcare, transportation, and the public sector operating in Spain.

“It will also expand their regional capabilities and help them meet the growing demand for managed security services throughout Europe,” said Paolo Dal Cin, Global Head of Accenture Security.

The acquisition of Symantec’s cybersecurity services division in January 2020 solidified Accenture’s position as one of the world’s leading providers of Managed Security Services (MSS).

Additionally, the company has strengthened its presence in the field of cyber defense in Europe with the acquisitions of Sentor and Openminded, as well as in Latin America with the purchases of MNEMO México, Morphus, and Real Protect.

Recently, Accenture achieved the top market share in managed security services by revenue, according to the ‘Gartner Market Share: Managed Security Services, Worldwide’ report.

It was also recognized as a leader in the most recent ‘Forrester Research’ report on European providers of managed security services.
