Chilean Fintech Colaboramed has reached a significant milestone in its journey towards success by securing a USD$1 million investment, representing 12% ownership of the company and valuing it at a total of USD$8.8 million.

This financial achievement was made possible through the innovative health-focused prepaid card developed by AMOL, designed to simplify health copayment payments.

U-Payments, the current primary technology partner of Mastercard, has decided to support this promising project, recognizing its potential to become the next ‘unicorn‘ in the market.

U-Payments’ involvement with Colaboramed reflects the growing interest of key players in the financial sector towards emerging Fintech.

The creation of this Fintech is the result of seven years of effort by Chilean entrepreneurs Ingrid Müller and Sergio Bustamante.

Their focus has been on building a solid and reliable project with the goal of positively impacting access to health services through their prepaid card.

To carry out their ambitious plan, Müller and Bustamante have assembled a diverse and cross-disciplinary team that includes professionals of different ages and specialties, such as engineers, programmers, doctors, dentists, nurses, or lawyers.

The experience and knowledge of each team member have supported studies, preparation, development, testing, and validation of their business model, ensuring their readiness to face the challenges of the market.

It is important to note that the AMOL prepaid card is awaiting validation from the CMF, through the Operational Authorization Letter to U-Pay Processing Tarjetas de Prepago S.A., expected in October 2024.

The commitment and effort of the founding team, as well as their multidisciplinary team, have been crucial in positioning Colaboramed as a Fintech with great potential.

Thanks to this new investment, the company will be better equipped to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities that arise in the future.

AMOL’s entry into the market is significant news for Chileans seeking financial solutions for their health needs.

With AMOL by Colaboramed, the future of healthcare in Chile looks more promising than ever.
