Contxto Insure Tech Connect and Latin American Insurance Fund are hosting the first edition of the ITC-LAIF Awards. The contest aiming to reward Latin America’s most innovative insurtech startups will take place from September 23 to 25 at MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas.

In Summary

Latin America Insurance Fund (LAIF), founded in 2018 in Buenos Aires, is the first and only corporate fund of Venture Capital in Latin America specializing in insurance startups. LAIF partnered with ITC to create and promote the award at their conference in Las Vegas.

The event will have more than 7,000 visitors from more than 60 countries. There will also be 275 speakers and about 600 CEOs from the insurance industry, making it a great networking event for participants.

In Depth

This award aims to promote the insurtech industry and to reward the most innovative company in Latin America. It’s also the first contest for insurtech technology in the world. The call is open for Peru, Mexico, Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Colombia, Paraguay, Chile, Panama, and Uruguay.

The participating startups must have been operating for at least one year. Also, they must have raised US$25,000 over the last year. The registration period will be open until June 30th.

For admissions, participants have to fill out a questionnaire and send a two-minute video explaining their project. Of the projects enrolled, three finalists will be selected based on innovation, viability, and initiative. Finalists will find out the results on August 15.
