Contxto – Yet another Latin American accelerator has created a niche event for startups, this time for South American biotech companies thanks to the Chilean firm, Ganesha Lab.

This is the fourth time the accelerator has held the Ganesha Lab Call. Combining training, best practices, coaching, plus lots of networking with market shareholders, this is a four-month program taking place Chile.
Then, standouts from the Chilean program will spend one to two months in the United States. In the end, founders are better equipped to enter the U.S. market.

With a portfolio ranging from agro to biotech, Ganesha Lab provides customized soft-landing support to early-stage startups developing biomedicine, agricultural innovations, as well as medical technologies.
For the 2019 edition, the firm will select six initiatives to receive mentoring, acceleration and training. Chosen entrepreneurs can anticipate perfecting their business presentation for investors as well as international investment groups during the first stage.
Two of the top-performers will then go to Massachusetts and California for a soft-landing program.
Interested entrepreneurs and founded from various markets can apply. These include bioagriculture, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, veterinary, technology in food, among others.
One of the sole requirements to participate is that startups must be in early-stage development. That means that the company has already been formalized and possesses a minimum viable product (MVP).
To apply, startups must also create a 2-minute video in English discussing the team, entrepreneurial project, as well as the form of innovation it is pursuing. Aspiring participants can upload the video to Gansha Lab’s website where the application also awaits.
Biotechnology is a growing industry in Chile. Since 2011, Start-Up Chile has registered around 200 projects from this sector.
