BeeJobs to launch recruitment platform for SMEs in Colombia and Honduras

Contxto – Freshly funded with US$3.8 million from its Series A, BeeJobs is planning its upcoming launch into two Latin American countries this Friday (21).

Throughout its three-year-run, the startup has worked with over 1,500 businesses distributed among Brazil, Mexico, and Romania. Now it’s chosen Colombia and Honduras as its next destinations because of their similarities with its native Brazilian market.

The HR startup is one of many that wants to make the recruitment process more efficient through artificial intelligence and automation. BeeJobs in particular specializes in job placements for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Rightly so, small companies may have HR needs just like everyone else. They however may lack the resources (be it in manpower, money, time, or all of the above) to fill job openings when compared with their larger counterparts.

What’s worse, high turnover levels can drain these enterprises. To drive the point further, businesses increasingly need to engage and train their staff. Consequently, scant resources are stretched thinner still.

To top off this not-so-optimistic picture, Covid-19 is limiting many companies’ budgets.

In light of these challenges, Beejobs sees a market opportunity. 

BeeJobs’ roadmap

The startup’s co-Founder and CEO, Cláudio Vinícius says that it wants to leverage digital tools like online databases as well as offline ones like ads in public spaces to better connect job hunters and companies.

“Our expansion strategy is centered on our becoming the biggest ATS [applicant tracking system] in Latin America that’s integrated into Indeed and LinkedIn,” Vinícius told Contxto.

And while the pandemic may slow recruitment down, the startup is optimistic about its growth for the short term.

“I think in a year BeeJobs will be in eight countries and with the goal of becoming the biggest point of reference in HR tech for Latin America’s small and medium-sized enterprises,” concluded the Executive.
