Tidewise, the Brazilian startup specializing in technological solutions for the naval services sector announced that it has successfully secured an investment round of close to USD$1.9 million

The financing was led by MSW Capital through their MultiCorp 2 fund, with the participation of significant investors such as Embraer, BB Seguros, Baterías Moura, and AgeRio.

Rafael Coelho and Sylvain Joyeux, the founders of Tidewise, are dedicated to developing, integrating, and operating intelligent robotic systems to address the needs of the naval industry in river, port, and maritime environments.

This intends to promote a safer and more sustainable industry by aligning technology with enhanced security and reducing costs and environmental impacts

Tidewise commenced its operations in 2020 and has provided services to major companies such as Petrobras, Repsol Sinopec Brasil, Shell, and the electric distribution company Elia Group in Belgium.

Thanks to the funds raised, Tidewise plans to expand its industrial capacity, increase its fleet, and establish an operations team covering Brazil’s entire coast.

“We are happy with this investment, which is an excellent acknowledgment of our work so far.

“With these resources, we can accelerate our growth and expansion to meet the growing demand for technological solutions in the naval services market,” revealed Rafael Coelho, CEO of Tidewise.

This achievement comes strategically for Brazil, as the Ministry of Mines and Energy reports that the national wind energy market has more than 26 gigawatts (GW) of installed capacity spread across over 900 wind farms nationwide.

This has involved an investment of more than USD$39,000 million in the last decade.

Furthermore, in marine wind energy, for which companies like TideWise offer services, Brazil has more than 80 announced projects planning to add over 200 GW of installed capacity.
