The Stefanini Group recently announced a key step in its expansion by acquiring 60% of Escala 24×7, a Premier Partner of Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Latin America. This transaction, one of the five largest in the company’s history, strengthens its position in the cloud services market in the region.

According to data from Gartner and IDC, by 2028 more than half of the companies will be operating on cloud platforms, with an annual growth of 30% in investments. In Brazil alone, spending on cloud services will exceed US$1.5 billion in 2024, reflecting an accelerated digital transformation.

A strategic bet

With this move, the multinational seeks to increase its offering of cloud migration, security, and specialized solutions for regulated industries, such as finance and manufacturing. The acquisition will not only support Escala 24×7’s growth, which is projected to reach $100 million in revenue by 2025 but will also strengthen its technical capacity.

The company has more than 380 global certifications, and 13 AWS competencies and has executed more than 1,500 projects in 19 countries. Its track record includes recognition as AWS Integrator Partner of the Year in 2022 and 2023, as well as collaborations with clients such as Allianz, Bancolombia, and Grupo Banesco.

In an interview with Contxto, Harold Barber, COO of Escala 24×7, explained that the agreement guarantees the company’s operational and cultural continuity. “Escala 24/7’s management is maintained, and the company continues to operate independently as it has been doing for more than 12 years. Maintaining the culture and agility is fundamental for our clients,” he said. He also pointed out that the synergy will allow them to accelerate commercial strategies and add greater value in the region.

On the strategic level, Barber detailed that Escala 24×7 will become Stefanini’s cloud arm, with special emphasis on financial services, insurance, manufacturing, and energy. “We will empower modernization solutions, ‘Cloud Native’ development, security, managed services, and artificial intelligence,” he said.

Expanding operations in Brazil

As for integration mechanisms, Barber mentioned two clear phases: “First, we will consolidate Latin America with joint offerings for existing customers. Then, we will expand operations to Brazil with a mature model.” According to the executive, this combination unites Stefanini’s track record, technical capacity, and financial backing with Escala24x7’s technical expertise in AWS.

“This investment does not imply a merger, but a strategic alliance. They will remain at the lead of the company along with their executive team, and we are confident that they will become Stefanini’s global platform for AWS cloud services,” explained Damian Mendez, director of Stefanini’s Latam Digital Hub in a press release.

Clients of both companies will not experience disruptive changes, as continuity of services and support is guaranteed. In addition, both companies will retain their current agreements with partners such as LightEdge, DANAconnect, and Automation Anywhere, ensuring a frictionless transition.
