Snowflake, a Data Cloud company, has taken a step towards its global expansion by officially starting its operations in Colombia. This strategic move is part of the company’s plan to strengthen its presence in Latin America.
Snowflake has experienced exponential growth and successfully debuted on the stock market in 2020. Currently, it operates in more than 40 offices worldwide, and its services are used by thousands of clients, including 639 of the Forbes Global 2000 companies of 2023.

Ernesto Serrano, Country Manager for Colombia, will strengthen Snowflake’s operations in LATAM to serve Colombian customers better. The company plans to expand its Professional Services team in Colombia, focusing on sales and customer service. Serrano commented on Snowflake’s capabilities in the Colombian market:

In recent years, there has been a notable increase in the amount of corporate data stored in the cloud, reaching 60% by 2022. This represents significant growth since 2015, when only about 30% of corporate data was held this way.
The global market for public cloud services is estimated to grow by nearly 22% in 2023, reaching a value of approximately USD$600,000 million according to Statista data. Additionally, the migration towards cloud technology is also taking place to strengthen security, reliability, and business agility.
