The Valencian Startup Association, has announced its withdrawal from The Terminal Hub project due to the inability to reach a management agreement with the awarded company: Valencia Innovation District, S.L.
Juan Luis Hortelano, President of Startup Valencia, conveyed this decision through a letter, highlighting the unanimous decision by the association’s Board of Directors following prolonged negotiation attempts without strategic alignment on the project’s direction.
However, Startup Valencia reaffirms its commitment to the success of the Valencian innovation and technology ecosystem, emphasizing ongoing efforts to deliver value to its 350+ members and 25 partners through various programs and global community engagement.
The Terminal Hub, located at the former maritime station next to the Clock Building in La Marina de Valencia, was envisioned as a collaborative space for over 500 startups and high-tech companies.
After a four-year deadlock and the reassignment of the project from Fosbury & Sons to Valencia Innovation District, S.L. in March 2023, the hub aims to foster open innovation and position Valencia as a leading technology hub in Southern Europe.
Startup Valencia, since its foundation in 2017, has been instrumental in advocating for the Valencian tech ecosystem, partnering with notable entities to elevate the region’s global tech hub status.
