The National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) will be the venue for SIMBig 2023, taking place from December 13 to 15. The International Conference on Information Management and Big Data will celebrate its tenth edition.
SIMBig is one of the first conferences in Latin America that brings together areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Health Informatics, Natural Language Processing, Semantic Web, and Software Engineering, among others.
This event aims to present new methods of Artificial Intelligence and related fields for the analysis and management of large volumes of data.
The facilities of the IPN’s Research Center in Computing, located in Mexico City, will welcome hundreds of participants, specialists, and speakers from around the globe to exchange knowledge and share the latest ecosystem advancements.
Previous editions of SIMBig have seen over 2,000 participants, with more than 200 research articles published and over 50 expert speakers in these fields.
For this edition of SIMBig, the organization has selected some of the leading experts in Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Language Processing:
Dr. Mona Diab, computer science professor and director of the Language Technologies Institute at Carnegie Mellon University.
Dr. Stefano Ermon, associate professor in the Department of Computer Science at Stanford University and member of the Woods Institute for the Environment.
Dr. Marc Najork, distinguished research scientist at Google DeepMind, working on new techniques to make it easier for people to obtain relevant and useful information when they need it.
Dr. Huan Liu, professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Arizona State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California.
Dr. Yan Liu, professor in the Department of Computer Science and director of the Machine Learning Center at the University of Southern California.
Dr. Wen Yu graduated in Automation from Tsinghua University in Beijing in 1990 and obtained a master’s and a doctorate, both in Automatic Control, from Northeastern University in Shenyang in 1992 and 1995, respectively.
For three days, Mexico City will be the epicenter of this ecosystem, and in its tenth edition, SIMBig promises to surpass the expectations of previous ones, aiming to establish itself as one of the most important events in Latin America and the world.
