Anton Pasiechnikov, the key figure behind Revolut’s electronic market making team, has left the company after more than five years. Having joined Revolut in 2018 as head of finance technology, Pasiechnikov later served as deputy CFO and chief investment officer before leading the market making division from early 2022.

Despite his departure, Revolut remains tight-lipped about the future direction of the team, which is known for leveraging AI techniques like machine learning and predictive modeling for trading.

Pasiechnikov’s career in market making spans decades, including a notable stint at Credit Suisse and the development of trading platforms for Renaissance Capital. His exit comes without a direct next step, as he expresses eagerness for “new adventures” within the industry.

Meanwhile, Revolut continues to expand its market making capabilities, as evidenced by an open position for a data scientist in Lithuania, suggesting ongoing investment in its trading infrastructure.
