Prometeo will expand to Mexico, the United States, and Brazil between 2024 and 2025. The Uruguayan Open Banking company aims to consolidate its regional presence by increasing its team by 50% this year.
The investment will fund product development, commercial operations, and market expansion. Prometeo also plans to strengthen its presence in Peru, Uruguay, and Chile. Currently, it operates in ten countries, serving over 40 clients, including Citibank and JP Morgan.
Prometeo promotes a remote work culture, emphasizing autonomy and flexibility. From 2021 to 2023, its sales increased tenfold. Founded in 2018, Prometeo has evolved from a virtual wallet to a leading Open Banking provider, facilitating access to banking information and automating processes. The company has consistently invested in growth and product development.
Recent funding will support expanding multi-banking data and payment capabilities in Latin America. New investors include Samsung Next and PayPal Ventures, with existing backers Magma Partners and Cometa.
Prometeo’s platform provides automated access to bank data and payments from multiple institutions via a unified API, simplifying and securing connections.
