In 2022, founders Francisca De la Piedra, Javiera Moreno, and María José Herrera established Umano to create a technology platform dedicated to improving worker well-being and, consequently, company performance.
This “people tech” startup offers a suite of professional and therapeutic services personalized to each employee’s needs, with the aim of impacting a range of industries.
Umano’s platform operates on a Software as a Service (SaaS) model, offering a three-phased approach to enhance the well-being of employees and optimize organizational performance.
Employees access various professional services in the first phase, while the second phase provides companies with key performance indicators. The final phase translates these data into actionable insights for the companies.
The startup initiated with a legal advisory pilot, soon expanding to include psychological, nutritional, social, financial, and occupational therapy services. Funded initially through SAFE contracts and public grants from Start-Up Chile, Umano secured a significant contract in February 2023, expanding its beneficiary base twelvefold.
With a current focus on Latin America, Umano plans further expansion into Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, and Mexico
