In Mexico, WhatsApp is the most widely used messaging app, according to the Internet Association MX, with 78 million users, meaning 9 out of every 10 people with internet access use it to keep in touch with friends, family, and coworkers.

Liquido’s solution facilitates direct and efficient transaction between businesses and their customers via WhatsApp, without the need to leave the app to complete the sale. Additionally, it offers merchants a new sales and marketing platform.

Natalia Vásquez, Commercial Director of Liquido for Mexico, commented in a press release:

“With this solution, we offer businesses the opportunity to complement their digital sales channels, allowing their customers to make inquiries, select items, and pay from the same app. Thus, increasing the conversion rate and improving the overall customer experience.”

According to data from Statista, more than half of the Mexican population will purchase goods and services online this year due to the convenience and accessibility of this channel. Therefore, it is vital for merchants to consider not only an optimized website for shopping but also new digital sales channels that fit the tools that users use daily, such as WhatsApp.

Customers can add products to their shopping carts and make payments in the app, enjoying a seamless and personalized shopping experience. Merchants, on the other hand, can create marketing campaigns to stay in touch with their customers and foster loyalty and purchasing preference.

Setting up a shop on WhatsApp is a simple process that does not require programming knowledge. Merchants can integrate their product catalog and store to WhatsApp through plug-ins designed for major e-commerce platforms like Shopify, or through an API integration.

Lastly, Liquido guarantees the security of transactions, not only through WhatsApp’s native data encryption but also by ensuring that customer payment information is securely stored, complying with the highest standard of security in the payment industry, PCI DSS.

Why is it relevant for e-commerce startups in LatAm?

  • Liquido’s solution allows e-commerce startups to tap into WhatsApp’s user base, expanding their reach, audience engagement, and boosting their sales.
  • Startups can offer a simplified and personalized shopping experience. This can increase the conversion rate and foster customer loyalty.
  • Security remains a concern in e-commerce transactions for users, with Liquido’s tool, startups can build more trust among their customers, offer data protection, and comply with the highest industry standards, thus fostering trust and repeat purchases.
