EdTech Aprende Institute raises $22 million to expand its presence in Spanish-speaking markets.
Valor Capital Group led the investment round and raised $27 million in financing.
Aprende Institute, a platform specialized in providing professional education online, closed a series A-II investment round for $22 million, reaching $27 million dollars in total financing. Valor Capital Group led the round.
Additional round funding came from Reach Capital, ECMC Group, Univision, Angel Ventures, Capria, Endeavor Catalyst, Artisan Venture Capital, Matterscale, Salkantay Ventures, 500 Startups, The Yard Ventures, Claure Group, and angel investors.
Where is the new capital headed?
The funding will be used to attract myriad talent, strengthen educational offerings, and expand services to companies and institutions, Martin Claure, CEO of Aprende Institute explained in a statement from the company.
Aprende Institute provides services in Latin America and the United States – the biggest player in Spanish-speaking America – where it will continue to consolidate its presence with $22 million in financing.
Aprende Institute has partnered with Univision to make its offering “more accessible to the Hispanic community” in the United States.
This EdTech company will put the new capital to work expanding its School of Business and Entrepreneurship which they have already begun to develop with courses in marketing, sales, negotiation and finance.

The EdTech startup arrived on the scene in 2019 to offer professional training in Latin America and to Spanish-speaking people living in the United States.
It currently numbers approximately 70,000 students who are located in Miami, Mexico City, Bogota, Buenos Aires and Lima.
Aprende Institute is one EdTech company setting off the Latin American market. HOLON IQ pointed out that it broke investment records for the first half of 2021, as various funds invested 3.6 times more than in the same period during 2020.
