Contxto – Chilean-founded Fanatiz scored a major goal following its recent Series A for US$10 million. Miami’s 777 Partners made the investment and thanks to their contribution, Fanatiz will be expanding its Video On Demand (VOD) and live sports streaming service.

A fair price and fantastic customer experience are the causes of its speedy success. Lessons to be learned with this one readers.

Fanatiz appeases sports fans

Just like Netflix or HBO Now, Fanatiz is a media streaming service. However, instead of television shows, it covers live and on-demand sporting events. Examples include top soccer leagues like the Copa Libertadores in Latam, as well as other fan favorites such as Spain’s LaLiga.

Chilean Matías Rivera launched Fanatiz in 2016. It had previously participated in Google’s accelerator program in March of 2019. However, as of July of last year, it experienced a 125 percent growth in its paying subscriber base. According to the startup, it was thanks to their repricing strategy that more users chose to sign up.

Naturally, the startup’s biggest streaming markets are in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Mexico, and the US.

Users can access Fanatiz’s platform via PC, mobile app, or from the comfort of their living room television through Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, and Apple TV.

Customer experience through streaming

Beyond an accessible price, there’s more at play with Fanatiz’s services.

The startup also provides a full, online customer experience where the user can follow their favorite teams and receive updates and news. For hardcore fans, this is a huge perk.

Moreover, by offering a personalized experience, Fanatiz creates a meaningful connection with its customer base. Much like Netflix does by giving us recommendations of shows it believes we might enjoy based on our binge-watching habits.

The fact that Fanatiz allows streaming through various devices may have also assisted in upping its number of paying users. Flexibility is a must-have feature for a great customer experience.

Startups that offer personalized options and flexibility should expect greater brand loyalty.

And what better followers than passionate sports fans?
