Contxto – One of Latin America’s most renowned accelerators, NXTP Labs, recently announced a new strategic partnership with RSK. Under the mission to boost the implementation of “disruptive technologies that generate high-impact in society,” NXTP will launch a new acceleration program targeted at blockchain startups only.
Ever since it started, NXTP Labs has preached and invested in blockchain-powered solutions. However, this interest has become more emphasized since last year when it granted over US$1 million to crypto and blockchain initiatives.
The protagonist of some recent news articles, RSK is an Argentine company specializing in the development of smart contracts through the Bitcoin network. A few days ago, news about its Taringa! acquisition also made our headlines.
According to a recent press release, the program released on September 25 will explore blockchain startups in different industries. As stated, nowadays there are many companies offering blockchain solutions in various industries. Some of these include fintech, gaming, IoT, logistics and supply chain.
Argentina is, in fact, one of Latin America’s most promising countries for blockchain. RSK is a prime example of this, but there are other important companies in the game. These include Ripio, Koibanx, Wibson, Securitize, Experimental and even Taringa! itself.
Based on the release, the industry currently holds a market cap of more than US$250 billion. Furthermore, players such as Facebook, JP Morgan and IBM are not only entering but already consolidating the technology and its usage.
Who can apply?
Companies from across Latin American can apply. They may already have products or services developed through RSK blockchain, looking to migrate data to a blockchain or be seeking to adopt this technology.
Selected startups will receive access to all fundamental tools to develop applications in RSK’s blockchain. Experts in the field will also help the companies through mentorship. Ultimately, they can pursue US$100,000 investments from NXTP Labs.
Additionally, proptech, remittances, product logistics, supply chain, collaborative work, financial inclusion and agrotech applications are of major interest to the coalition.
