Guru Spoc (CA2C) has become the first company authorized by Brazil’s Superintendence of Private Insurance (Susep) to operate as a Customer Order Processing Company (Spoc) within the Open Insurance framework. The fintech, already registered as an insurance broker with SUSEP, is set to provide solutions such as digital wallets, insurance product aggregation, and comparison services for private pensions and capitalization.
Inspired by the Central Bank’s Open Finance project, Open Insurance allows Brazilians to share data on insurance products, open supplementary pensions, and capitalization among different institutions regulated by Susep. However, according to a recent study by consulting firm Capgemini, the initiative is not expected to significantly impact the market until 2025.
Spocs, a new player in the insurance market introduced in phase 3 of the system, can act as data aggregators or even offer services related to initiating financial transactions with the client’s consent, similar to payment initiation. As Guru Spoc ventures into this uncharted territory, it aims to revolutionize the way Brazilians manage and compare their insurance and pension products, all while dancing to the rhythm of samba and cheering for their favorite soccer teams.
