On December 19, 2023, the Chilean startup DataScope, known for its software aimed at optimizing fieldwork and data collection through mobile devices, started its expansion plans across Latin America by opening a new commercial office in Mexico City.
The software facilitates data capture on mobile devices, streamlining processes for businesses and supporting their digital transformation.
Founded in 2016 by Nicolás Serrano and Antonio Grass, DataScope initially focused on digitizing company processes and facilitating digital transformations through a mobile app. This innovation was designed to lessen the use of paper, save time, and cut costs.
Over time, they expanded their value proposition by emphasizing the quality and safety of field operations. CEO Nicolás Serrano, who will lead the international expansion efforts, shared that they have around 30 clients in Mexico and one commercial executive already in the country.
Serrano envisions forming a local team in Mexico to firmly establish their presence. He remarked that the Mexican market is particularly appealing due to its significantly larger economy compared to Chile’s, and because they can rapidly build upon the stable customer base they already have there.
He aims to triple their operations in Mexico and, in the mid-term, to plan further expansions into other Latin American nations like Peru, Colombia, and Uruguay.
Currently, DataScope’s platform is utilized by over 400 clients across various sectors, including transportation and mining, in 17 countries. It has also earned recognition as one of the 23 winners of Google’s Latino Founders Fund, receiving US$ 150,000 and up to US$ 350,000 in Google Cloud credits.
