Beeasy Delivery, the ultrafast package delivery startup based in Sant Joan Despí, Barcelona, has abruptly ceased operations. The Commercial Court No. 7 of Barcelona has declared the company’s necessary bankruptcy.

The court has removed liquidators Sergio Giménez García, Juan Manso López, Germán Martín Oñate Arévalo, and Javier Jiménez Blázquez, all former board members along with Jesús Majem Tarruella and Juan Manuel Quelle Añel. The Pleta law firm has been appointed as the bankruptcy administrator to take charge of the company and finalize the liquidation of remaining assets.

Beeasy was born during the strict COVID lockdown, with its promoters launching it in 2021 with an ambitious expansion plan. The startup specialized in last-mile package delivery, always in the afternoon with minimal failed deliveries, using non-polluting vehicles and offering contracts to all distributors from day one.

Operations began in Barcelona in 2021, expanding to Madrid the same year. Despite defining itself as a “local, ecological, sustainable, and social” delivery company, Beeasy’s economic plans, which included hiring 2,000 permanent employees, could not be met. Revenues were nominal over the three years, with losses around €600,000 since founding.

Faced with this dire situation, partners agreed to terminate the ruinous business in mid-2023. During the closure process, an unsatisfied creditor petitioned the courts for necessary bankruptcy, which the commercial court has now granted.
