The neo-university was selected from among more than 750 companies globally. He will be looking to win at the summit hosted by GSV Ventures and Arizona State University.

The Mexican edtech Collective Academy has been selected as one of the Top 20 Edtechs in the world. This is according to GSV Cup, the largest pitching competition in the world, organized by Arizona State University and GSV Ventures.

The companies on this list are edtechs that are in the pre-seed and seed stage in the digital education space. Between them, they serve students from Pre-K through to Gray. The selected businesses are in the following categories: Early Childhood, K-12, Higher Education, Adult Consumer Learning and Adult Business Learning.

Collective offers higher education, and was selected from more than 750 companies that applied globally. More than 175 judges from leading digital learning-focused venture capital firms will make the decision to define the winner; this winner will receive up to US$1 million in cash, among other prizes, during the 13th ASU+GSV Summit next April.

The edtech defines itself as a neo-university. This is because it has a particular teaching methodology focused on the practical needs of its students. It was founded by Patricio Bichara and Fernando Fabre in 2015.

Since then, Collective has received investments from Grupo Bursátil Mexicano (GBM), Capital Invent, Vander Capital Partners, Xochi Ventures and several other angel investors.

The GSV Cup it will be participating in is sponsored by Google Cloud, HubSpot for Startups, HolonIQ and GSV Ventures.

It is important to mention that GSV Ventures has a large portfolio that includes companies such as: Andela, Class Technologies, ClassDojo, Coursera, Course Hero, Degreed, Guild, MasterClass, Outlier, Photomath, Quizizz, Lead School, Brightchamps and ClassPlus, among others.
