District announced the introduction of GenAI Lab, an initiative to develop solutions based on generative artificial intelligence.

The emerging technology company Distrito announced the introduction of GenAI Lab, an initiative designed to bring together startups, large corporations, technology providers, and investors with the aim of developing solutions based on generative artificial intelligence.

GenAI Lab will establish its headquarters in the Distrito building in São Paulo, where it is expected to host at least 20 startups and more than 20 partners, including technology providers, services, and large companies.

“We intend to promote the development of startups and AI solution applications in corporations through training, creating new products, validating existing solutions, exchanging knowledge, and, above all, generating business opportunities among participants,” revealed Gustavo Gierun, CEO and founder of Distrito.

In addition, it will involve the participation of renowned venture capital funds from Latin America, providing guidance to entrepreneurs in areas such as fundraising, product development, business models, sales strategies, among other aspects.

According to statements from the Distrito executive, it is anticipated that by 2030, generative artificial intelligence will automate more than 30% of jobs, affecting various sectors.

“It will be an opportunity to connect companies looking to apply generative AI solutions in practice to generate operational efficiency, new revenue pillars, improve customer experience, or generate insights and intelligence from a large mass of data, information, and documents.”

“The Lab will be an important source of investment opportunities and insights for Softbank, Riverwood, Alexia, Domo, Maya, Astella, Volpe, and Norte,” emphasized the executive.

The selection of participating startups in the program took place through a meticulous evaluation process during the first GenAI Challenge, in which more than 400 companies were identified through nominations from supporters and funds.

“The disruptive power of this new technology is evident. Now it is essential to build technical skills, strategies, and products to adapt to the new reality. That’s why the GenAI Lab will receive weekly visits from corporations interested in the topic to strengthen this ecosystem,” explained.

Currently, 14 startups have been chosen, and the program continues to search for 10 or 12 additional participants. Program activities are scheduled to begin in January 2024.

“The initiative will have the support of major technology companies, which will be announced in the coming days, as well as corporations from various segments.

“The FCamara Group and KPMG have already confirmed their participation. Fintech Conta Simples will be the official provider of financial services, corporate credit cards, and expense management for the program,” concluded the CEO.
