Barcelona, through its economic promotion agency Barcelona Activa, will support 32 startups at this year’s 4YFN event, held alongside the Mobile World Congress (MWC), with a focus on Deep Tech and digital talent. Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2024, 4YFN has become a pivotal platform connecting entrepreneurs, corporations, and investors.
The municipal stand at 4YFN-MWC will span 202m² in hall 8.1 (C11) of Fira de Gran Via, offering double the space compared to last year. Innovations from startups like SITEP, VRi, and Additive Spaces will be showcased through live demonstrations. Additionally, Barcelona Activa will spearhead roundtable discussions on current trends, including digital talent acquisition and the challenges faced by Deep Tech startups, and host a session with public-private investment funds to discuss financing challenges.
A variety of activities at the Barcelona Activa stand will address key topics related to city-led economic promotion programs. Sessions will cover digital talent with IT Academy graduates, corporate partnerships through Connectio, and networking with mentors from the Lidera initiative, supporting women in professional, executive, and entrepreneurial roles. Moreover, the stand will feature a Food Corner with free tastings from entrepreneurial projects in food, innovation, and tech, such as Incapto and Honestly.
Many startups at the Barcelona Activa stand will perform 3-minute pitches to a diverse audience and investors, presenting innovative solutions across sectors like healthtech and cybersecurity. The event will also include tours within the MWC for industrial and creative sector companies, as well as mentors from the Barcelona Mentoring Programme.
