Muni, a startup created in Bogota to make online shopping more accessible, and focused on essential goods, raised US$20 million in a Series A led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. The company, which in addition to operating in Colombia, does so in Mexico and Brazil, has raised US$27 million in financing since its beginning. Its founder, María Echeverri Gómez, worked at Rappi.
Another Colombian startup, Cluvi, raised US$2.5 million. It is a platform aimed at restaurants with a series of digital customer service tools. According to the local financial newspaper La República, firms such as Cometa and Femsa Ventures participated in the round.
In Brazil, the fintech Zippi raised US$16 million in a round led by Tiger Global. According to the Brazilian magazine Exame, Zippi provides credit to SMEs so that they can pay suppliers immediately.
Kurios, a Peruvian B2B e-learning startup accelerated by Y Combinato, raised US$2.3 million in a pre-seed round that will allow it to reach Mexico.
Chilean startup Beeok will also arrive in Mexico after raising US$500 thousand in a pre-seed round led by Imagine Ventures. Beeok developed software for companies to adapt to environmental regulations. Its clients already include significant companies in its country of origin.
