AstroPay has introduced the Mastercard AstroPay GOAT Card, a prepaid card supported by Pomelo’s technology. This addition to AstroPay’s payment solutions, which include payment links, peer-to-peer transfers, closed-circuit digital vouchers, and investments across 150 countries, is available in both physical and virtual forms. Users can register for the card quickly, load funds through various payment methods, and use it for daily purchases and online services.
Alejo Sebo, Head of Issuing at AstroPay, emphasizes the strategic partnership with Pomelo, citing its technology and operational management as key to expanding payment solutions globally. The card aims to simplify financial transactions for users by allowing easy management of spending and providing immediate access to funds.
The development and launch of the Mastercard AstroPay GOAT Card in Argentina were completed rapidly, with the first payment processed just 21 days after the project began. This process highlights the flexibility and efficiency of Pomelo’s infrastructure, which supports card issuance and payment processing, including BIN sponsorship and KYC processes through API verification. The card can be used at physical points of sale, integrated into apps for QR code payments, and added to virtual wallet services like Google Wallet.
