The move comes as the company seeks to overcome past challenges in its finance department. John Kerrisk, previously with American Express and cybersecurity firm Bitdefender, has joined Revolut as head of financial control. Kerrisk brings extensive experience, including eight years at Amex and over six years at Deloitte.
In a significant international appointment, Martin McLeod has been named the CFO of Revolut Australia. McLeod’s extensive 17-year tenure at Citi included roles in Singapore and the Philippines, concluding as the FP&A head for the US consumer bank in New York. Before joining Revolut, he had brief stints at fintech firm Affirm and Real Estate-Tech company Domain.
These appointments follow a turbulent year for Revolut, marked by security breaches and intense scrutiny of its financial reports. The company’s previous CFO, Mikko Salovaara, departed to join Bolt, leaving a six-month gap filled by interim CFO Victor Stinga, a member of the “founders associates” team. These strategic hires reflect Revolut’s commitment to stabilizing and advancing its financial operations amidst a rapidly evolving fintech landscape.
